The Experiment Wizard is a precision metal detector, AC/DC tester and
static electricity probe. The Experiment Wizard is great for educational
use as a teaching aid, and it is also a very unique high-tech toy item.
The Experiment Wizard can precisely detect very small amounts of electrostatic
discharge (ESD), indicate AC/DC voltage, detect polarity in batteries
and can detect metal objects with it's metal detector function.
The Experiment Wizard is the perfect multi-function device for use in science fair projects. Since the device can be used to indicate small amounts ESD and voltage from .0025 to 110 VAC it is the perfect device for use in science fair experiments. The Experiment Wizard also has a built in metal detector which detects all types of metals. The Metal detector can be used for detecting metal at depths up to two inches. The metal detector reads soil, sand, grass, gravel, wood, concrete, plastic and cloth. Experiment Wizards are perfect for treasure seeking, finding metal content in rocks, debris, under fabric, and locating nails or screws under wood surfaces or inside of walls. The Experiment Wizard can provide a child (or adult) with countless hours of creative experimentation as well as offering practical tool uses for many applications.
Operating
Instructions Attention: Do not remove the black insulating cap from tip of Experiment Wizard when testing alternating current (AC). Always use caution when working on or near electrical circuits. One 9 volt battery required. For installation, remove battery cover and connect a 9 volt battery. Always replace battery cover. Do not expose to water. Use in damp environments may cause inaccurate or false readings and damage to device. 1. To locate metal objects: Adjust dial on top of Experiment Wizard to point just where tone signal stops. Hold Experiment Wizard so that the metal detector arrows are pointing towards suspected location of metal. Place Experiment Wizard 1/4" to 1/8" from location and slide in a circular motion. A continuous tone is heard when you are directly on top of a metal object. Dial can be adjusted to increase or decrease sensitivity. 2. To detect electrostatic discharge: Place tip of Experiment Wizard near object that is discharging an electrostatic field. Experiment Wizard will sound a vibrating beep tone when detecting static electricity. 3. To locate position of a positive electrical current from an electrical device: Place tip of Experiment Wizard near electrical device. An intermediate beeping indicates live electrical current flowing through electrical device. Always use caution when working with any live electrical wiring or electrical objects. 5. To determine polarity of batteries (3V and greater): Hold finger on metal tab located directly underneath switch, touch one battery post and place tip of Experiment Wizard directly on other battery post. A continuous vibrating tone signals + side of battery. (To find a retailer or place wholesale orders call 888-346-3826). |
